Reflecting on 2020

We wanted to take this time to reflect on 2020. A year full of challenges that will not soon be forgotten, but we are sure will prove once again how resilient we are as a global community.

We continue to struggle with an ongoing pandemic that has exacerbated so many of the world’s underlying issues and we cannot pretend that this has not been an incredibly difficult year, for all of us, but certainly for some more than others.

Our thoughts go first and foremost to the loved ones we have lost, to those who are struggling with health issues and to the incredible burden this year has placed on businesses and their employees, especially smaller and family run enterprises.

We do, though, want to look back at the things for which we should be grateful. The sacrifice of our healthcare professionals and essential workers, who have kept us going despite the odds. The incredible acts of kindness and solidarity we have witnessed between strangers. Our extraordinary Rome Cavalieri team that continues to ensure our guests’ safety and comfort during these trying times. The perseverance of all in the face of adversity unlike any seen in recent times.

Despite these uncertain days, we know in our hearts that soon, we will be able to meet again and embrace, bask in the glow of each other’s smiles and step out from behind our screens to gather together once more and continue exploring this beautiful world that we call home.

Our best wishes to all of you as we close out this year and look forward to stepping into a new year full of hope and promise.
